Genesis is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural (CSA) Engineer for a long term opportunity with our large EPC firm in Charleston, WV.
Overview:
Senior CSA Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership and project execution oversight for complex industrial and infrastructure projects. This is a highly visible, client-facing position responsible for coordinating and interfacing with Clients, Global Integrated Delivery (GID), and Home Office (HO) teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and commercially successful project delivery across the full project lifecycle. This role is ideal for a experienced CSA leader who combines: Technical expertise with structural emphasis. Strong communication skills (proficient in English language) Sound commercial awareness Ability to guide and coordinate teams through complex engineering challenges Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Project Execution Provide senior technical leadership across CSA scope Ensure engineering deliverables meet client, and regulatory standards Incorporate relevant information into equipment and material specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions Lead and support: Technical bid clarifications and evaluations Vendor data reviews Certification activities Review and authorize work completed by engineers, designers, and specialists Contribute to cost estimating and proposal development Support project execution strategies Client, GID & Home Office Interface Serve as primary CSA interface with Clients, GID, and HO teams Lead technical coordination efforts and facilitate issue resolution Represent in discussions on complex technical matters Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders Mentor junior team members as appropriate Site Support & Constructability Participate in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews Ensure review outcomes are incorporated into engineering and design Collaborate with site personnel to resolve execution issues Develop plans and documentation supporting: Construction Testing Commissioning Operations Maintenance Handover Provide on-site support during construction and commissioning as required Leadership & Team Development Lead CSA teams, plan and coordinate work, and monitor progress Ensure quality deliverables are produced on time and within budget Mentor and develop team members Support performance management and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture Decision Making & Autonomy Make recommendations related to project execution strategy and CSA technical approaches Collaborate with project leadership and specialists on design alternatives Operate within approved budgets and schedules Seek appropriate approvals for any required deviations Supervision & Authority Exercise professional judgment and self-directed leadership Typically lead a team of engineers, designers, and specialists Coordinate large multi-disciplinary teams as needed Review technical work for accuracy and completeness Plan and report on CSA project performance Contribute to performance evaluations, staffing, and team development Systems, Tools & Ways of Working Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint Navigate internal systems and document management platforms effectively Functional awareness of CSA discipline tools and cross-discipline, data-centric engineering environments Experience with Microsoft Access or Visio is a plus Health, Safety & Sustainability Demonstrate hands-on leadership in HSE performance Promote Safe and Sustainable Engineering principles throughout the asset lifecycle Role-model commitment to personal well-being and proactive HSE leadership People & Leadership Capabilities Build strong, constructive working relationships and communicate clearly Thrive in high-caliber, collaborative environments Comfortable working across disciplines, offices, and delivery models Results-driven, accountable for high-quality outcomes Navigate complexity and ambiguity in technically challenging environments
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline Active Professional Engineer (PE) licensure where required by law 10+ years of relevant CSA experience, including 3+ years in technical or project leadership Strong knowledge of codes, regulations, manufacturing standards, and industry best practices Demonstrated experience establishing discipline work processes, leading teams, delivering complex engineering packages, and supporting project closeout Experience with project estimating and technical proposal development Formal training in leadership and project execution Desirable Training or experience in risk management and/or quality management Exposure to procurement, construction execution, and field engineering activities Strong budgeting and cost control capability Genesis Staffing provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
