Job Description:
Hyperion Biotechnology, Inc., an incumbent contractor supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is seeking a highly qualified Environmental or Mechanical Engineer (PE) to support a multi-state program focused on water safety, potable water systems, and Legionella risk management. This position supports VA healthcare facilities and requires strong technical expertise in water management programs (WMPs) aligned with ASHRAE 188 and VA directives.Key Responsibilities:
- Support and evaluate Water Management Programs (WMPs)
- Assess potable water systems and infrastructure
- Identify and mitigate Legionella risk factors
- Develop remediation and corrective action plans
- Provide input on water treatment and purification systems
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE 188 and VA requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize data management/reporting systems
- Participate in stakeholder meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Mechanical, or related)
- Active PE license (CA and AZ required; NM preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years relevant experience
- Knowledge of potable water systems and WMPs
- Strong understanding of
ASHRAE 188
- Experience with plumbing/mechanical systems and Legionella mitigation
Preferred Qualifications:
- VA or healthcare facility experience
ASSE 12080, ASPE
CPD, or ASHRAE-related certifications- Experience with water treatment and remediation
Work Requirements:
- Must reside in CA or AZ
- ~10% travel required
- Timely responsiveness to communications
