What You'll Do:
Engineer, design, and construct mine related dams in compliance with design requirements provided by consulting third party engineers. Estimate time, resources, and expenditures necessary to accomplish this task. Identify clay storage needs and construction timing. Optimize settling area usage. Maintain existing mine settling areas in compliance with FDEP regulations and guidelines. Analyze heavy equipment needs for the White springs mining operations including Mine Services, Mining Operations, and Mill. Publish analysis and make recommendations to management at least yearly. Provide engineering design and coordinate reclamation activities between Mine Planning, Environmental, and Mining to ensure low cost, "move dirt once" philosophy. Interface as required with local, state, and federal regulators to assure compliance with local, state, and federal rules, laws and permit requirements, Prepares AFE's for assigned projects, plans, and construction are in compliance with design operating limits and environmental permits. Monitor operating areas and project sites to assure employee safety, process integrity, and environmental permit compliance. Evaluate management inquiries into various aspects of mining operations including subjects related to both geology and engineering. These inquiries can be of a broad and unspecified nature. These problems require the incumbent to adequately diagnose the problem, research possible solutions and then formulate a solution and submit solution for management review. Identify and assist in the development of permitting needs and strategies. Perform feasibility studies regarding various aspects of the mining operating such as economic analyses of various mine plan options for evaluation of non- standard mining techniques to recover isolated or remote reserve blocks. Oversee survey operations at White Springs. Conduct orientation for newly transferred employees and contractors for safety, operation, and environmental compliance. Monitor compliance with safety and environmental paperwork with survey services. Weekend duty in either geology or Mine Services.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Environmental Sciences is required. 5 years' experience in related fields and industries Advanced degrees or course work is desired. A thorough knowledge in mining techniques including planning, operations, and economic evaluation is required. Professional registration is highly desirable. Ready to make an impact with us?
