at Environmental Protection Agency in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ), Bureau of Air ( BOA ), is seeking a motivated Environmental Protection Engineer I to join the State Permits and Federally Enforceable State Operating Permits (FESOPs) Unit C. This entryâ€'level engineering role offers handsâ€'on experience and training in reviewing air permit applications for a wide range of operations and air pollution control systems. The selected candidate will also support BOA staff in conducting investigations, inspections, and monitoring activities for facilities that impact air quality within the State Permits and FESOPs program. This is an excellent opportunity to develop foundational engineering and regulatory skills while contributing to the protection of Illinois’ air quality.
