Position Overview The Environmental Engineer I supports environmental planning, design, and compliance efforts for various types of projects. This role works under close supervision to assist with technical analyses, fieldwork, and documentation. Responsibilities Assist with environmental site assessments, permitting, and compliance tasks Perform field environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, air) and data collection Support preparation of technical work plans and reports, permit applications, and environmental documentation (e.g., NEPA-related documents, SWPPP, SPCC) Conduct basic engineering calculations and analyses Coordinate with internal teams (civil, geotechnical, construction) Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and safety standards Maintain accurate field notes and project records Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related engineering field 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships included) Basic understanding of federal/state environmental regulations Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or ability to obtain Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, or environmental modeling tools Fieldwork experience Travel Requirements This position requires travel (20% - 50%) as part of its primary responsibilities .
