family Bachelor's degree Full Job Description The position is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's ecological policies and initiatives to ensure they adhere to relevant laws. This role involves critically assessing and proposing improvements to current practices for enhanced operational efficiency. You will be pivotal in guiding the strategic direction of the environmental management framework.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure that all environmental regulations at the federal, state, and local levels are met. Develop and maintain effective communications with agencies such as the Ohio EPA and Federal EPA. Gather and analyze internal Greenhouse Gas emissions data. Lead initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gases. Stay informed on, and disseminate updates regarding environmental law changes. Provide management with insights on compliance shifts and associated activities. Conduct and manage internal audits for compliance assurance. Champion facility recycling efforts and interface with the parent company on outcomes. Draft and submit various environmental documents, including reports, plans, and permit applications. Evaluate environmental risks and devise strategies to mitigate them. Oversee hazardous waste handling and disposal processes. Direct initiatives related to Carbon Neutrality, including data management and sustainability reporting. Design and implement programs to control pollution and waste. Review and update Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans as necessary. Investigate environmental incidents promptly and develop corrective action strategies. Conduct on-site environmental inspections. Oversee the Hazard Communication/Safety Data Sheet (HAZCOM/SDS) program concerning material management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or a related discipline. Comprehensive understanding of regulations pertaining to air, water, and land permits. Proven experience in managing an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management system, notably with
ISO 14001
standards.
