Description Position Overview:
The Environmental Engineer is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance at our secondary lead recycling facility in Tampa. Responsibilities involve engaging a wide range of stakeholders including operations teams and regulators. Must be able to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams at all levels. This role will have the ability to act independently with moderate direct supervision. This position reports to the site Environmental Director.Critical Success Criteria:
Develops working knowledge of existing operations and processes to aid compliance with relevant regulatory standards Support capital project teams by providing environmental input and requirements Serves as a technical resource for environmental compliance and continuous improvement to the site operations team Supports investigations and recommends corrective actions to maintain environmental complianceResponsibilities:
Using our Intelex software system, owns the environmental incident reporting and investigation system Coordinates environmental testing, audits, inspections, and recordkeeping Remains current on the state of the art in environmental control technologies Performs data analysis to drive insights into environmental performance opportunities Prepares regulatory compliance reports including emissions inventory, periodic air monitoring reports, Greenhouse Gas, and periodic hazardous waste reporting Reviews and summarizes technical reports, identifying key takeaways and action items Communicates and engages with regulators Works with consultants to monitor relevant regulatory changes Works with the training department to create and update training documentation Responds promptly and effectively to the needs of the business.Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited College or University A minimum of two years of previous work experience in an environmental role in manufacturing or consulting Previous work experience with facilitating regulators and on-site contractors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to champion change, promote a positive team atmosphere, and sustain a continuous improvement culture Highly self-motivated and directed, ability to work well under pressure, sense of urgency, and attention to detail Previous experience with air permitting/Title V preferred, but NOT requiredPhysical Requirements:
Willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin, work in a hot/high temperature production facility, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation Willingness and ability to comply with safety protocols and company-provided decontamination measures The work that the person in this position completes is primarily on site at our Tampa facility with minimal opportunity for remote work.Compensation Information:
Salary Range:
$99,304 to $163,759. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.Benefits:
