DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Under the direction of the Section Manager, this position provides essential engineering support to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) Program. Primary responsibilities include supporting the design and construction of wastewater systems, drinking water systems, and non-point source or stormwater management projects. These duties also extend to projects funded through other state and federal grant and loan programs. This position also assists with statewide oversight of water infrastructure improvement projects funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and administered by the
PENNVEST
Program. Your work will help ensure that funded projects meet technical, regulatory, and programmatic requirements while advancing critical water infrastructure improvements across the Commonwealth. In addition, this role collaborates closely with the PENNVEST-selected third-party technical assistance provider. This includes helping ensure that potential applicants receive accurate guidance on program requirements and providing general oversight and support for the technical assistance contract as needed. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position may require travel as needed.
Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis; or
Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering.
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
