Job Description:
We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to foster a culture aligned with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) goals, focusing on continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role requires leadership in managing EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory laws and company policies.Responsibilities:
Manage, direct, coach, lead, and motivate plant personnel to achieve EHS goals and objectives safely and promptly. Assist in the development and implementation of EHS programs to maintain and exceed compliance with relevant regulatory laws. Oversee all environmental issues, regulatory reports, and permits, including air, wastewater, storm water, chemical, and waste disposal/recycling. Ensure timely and accurate filing of records to demonstrate compliance with federal, state, and company programs. Drive environmental stewardship through management systems ensuring compliance with all regulations. Maintain all necessary records and documents. Develop and deliver EHS compliance training. Manage and perform hands-on monitoring and measurement. Lead cross-functional teams to implement environmental improvement projects in the aerospace industry. Evaluate processes to optimize, minimize, or eliminate waste and reduce water usage. Oversee contractor management of the wastewater treatment and discharge program.Essential Skills:
BS Degree. Proficiency in compliance and safety regulations. Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Strong math skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret EHS regulations and technical reports. At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing environmental engineering preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Background in environmental science, environmental safety, or remediation. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The role involves working both on the manufacturing floor and in an office setting. The company is experiencing significant growth, offering opportunities for departmental movement. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hampton, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
