Water & Fire Technician Lead - Job Description The Water & Fire Technician Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing emergency mitigation services for residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other property damage. This role leads field technicians, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, maintains high-quality standards, and provides excellent customer service throughout the restoration process. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise mitigation crews on water, fire, and smoke damage restoration projects. Assess property damage and develop an effective mitigation plan. Perform water extraction, structural drying, demolition, smoke and soot cleaning, odor removal, and contents handling. Set up and monitor drying equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers. Conduct moisture mapping and document drying progress using industry-approved equipment. Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Train, mentor, and support technicians to improve skills and productivity. Communicate professionally with customers, insurance adjusters, and project managers regarding job status and expectations. Complete accurate job documentation, including photos, moisture readings, daily logs, and equipment tracking. Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency service calls. Qualifications Experience in water, fire, and smoke damage mitigation or restoration. Previous leadership or crew lead experience preferred. Strong knowledge of structural drying techniques and restoration equipment. Ability to read moisture meters and create drying plans. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call shifts.
