Job Title:
Engineering Technician Job Description This Facilities Technician role requires a hands-on, onsite technician to support a laboratory campus in Boulder, CO. The position focuses on daily facilities maintenance, MEP/HVAC troubleshooting, and addressing alarms and urgent building issues. The technician will interact with lab staff, facilities leadership, and external vendors to ensure building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GxP/GMP standards. The role demands a proactive individual comfortable with using tools, climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and handling after-hours issues as part of an on-call rotation. It is not a coordinator-only position; the technician must diagnose and resolve problems independently. Responsibilities Perform daily hands-on maintenance across a multi-building lab campus, including repairs, inspections, upkeep, and emergency response. Troubleshoot HVAC systems and respond to alarms, supporting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in real time. Monitor building systems through BMS, submit and complete work orders in CMMS, and track preventive and corrective maintenance. Work safely around active laboratory operations while complying with GxP/GMP standards. Coordinate, schedule, and oversee contractors performing maintenance or emergency repairs. Essential Skills 5+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in lab, pharma, biotech, or regulated environments. Strong HVAC, alarm, and MEP troubleshooting skills. Experience working in lab environments. GxP or GMP experience. Proficiency in BMS and CMMS platforms. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a regulated environment is strongly preferred. Work Environment The position is 100% onsite at a laboratory campus with an active science and research environment. Personal protective equipment and adherence to lab safety protocols are required. The role is physically demanding, involving lifting, climbing, standing, and crouching. There is an on-call rotation for handling alarms and emergencies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boulder, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.13/hr.
