Job Title:
Environmental Engineering Technician Job Description We are seeking to train an enthusiastic Environmental Engineering Technician who is eager to work on large agricultural and landfill projects. This role primarily involves monitoring landfill gas wells and performing environmental monitoring. The position requires extensive travel around the Midwest, with 90% of the workday spent outdoors. You will also assist in maintaining and servicing pumps on site. A company vehicle and per diem are provided during travel. Responsibilities Monitor landfill gas wells and perform environmental monitoring. Conduct routine wellfield balancing and maintenance. Oversee routine blower/flare operations. Perform field sampling at various test locations including wells, probes, headers, blowers, flares, and pumps. Collect, evaluate, and interpret scientific data. Communicate observations and technical data verbally and in writing with supervisors and clients. Operate and maintain the condensate management system. Record and maintain daily field logs reporting data collected, field observations, actions taken, and recommended actions. Work independently after completing training. Skills & Qualifications Associates or Bachelors degree in a science field is preferred but not required Mechanically inclined with the ability to lift and push 50lbs Comfortable working outdoors and traveling 80% of the year Work Environment The role requires meeting physical requirements for driving a pick-up truck, conducting walking inspections of improved and unimproved properties, and lifting and carrying equipment or mechanical components up to 50 lbs unassisted. Tasks include hand excavation/digging with shovels and picks, carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, using electric tools such as drills and saws, and using hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers. Work will be conducted under varying weather conditions. A per diem for meals ($55/day) is provided, and hotel accommodations are company-covered. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
