$48,000 - $54,000 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater. All regular positions also entitle the employee to several benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement which is largely paid by New Mexico Tech for the employee and dependents.

JOB SUMMARY:

Support scientific research on atmospheric electricity and physics. Maintain, install, repair, troubleshoot existing instrumentation. Design, Develop, and fabricate new instrumentation on request. Maintain the technical infrastructure of Langmuir Lab Have knowledge of the facilities side of Langmuir Lab and interface with the site technicians.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Operate and maintain existing instrumentation Maintain technical infrastructure (e.g. servers, network, lightning protection). Assist with facilities if needed. Directly assist professors and students Curiosity driven research in instrumentation Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Atmospheric Science or General Engineering. Broad physics background with strength in electromagnetism. Computer programming for scientific data analysis. Lab instrumentation user skills. High level technical communication skills.
