Purpose The National Academy of Construction (NAC) seeks a creative and motivated part-time Student Technician to support the Academy's communications, digital media, and content production initiatives. This role works closely with NAC staff, leadership, and committees-particularly the Communications & Marketing Committee and the Executive Insights Committee-to support podcast production, social media engagement, digital communications, and event coordination. The National Academy of Construction (NAC) is an organization of distinguished leaders in the construction industry who are recognized for their exceptional contributions to the built environment. Through thought leadership, collaboration, and the sharing of expertise, NAC works to advance the construction industry and support the development of future industry leaders. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply. Employment is expected to continue for future semesters. Responsibilities Plan, record, edit, and publish NAC podcast episodes. Coordinate guest participation, recording logistics, and prepare podcast summaries or outlines. Edit audio and video content, ensure quality control, publish episodes on designated platforms, and maintain an organized archive of podcast assets. Manage and grow NAC's LinkedIn presence and support promotion of podcasts, publications, and committee initiatives. Collaborate with NAC staff and the Communications & Marketing Committee to develop messaging, promotional content, and digital outreach materials. Track social media engagement metrics and compile basic analytics to support communications efforts. Assist with preparing PowerPoint presentations, compiling data, and supporting NAC committee initiatives. Support planning and logistics for NAC webinars and events, including assisting at the Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN (September 21-27, 2026). Required Qualifications Availability to work up to 20 hours per week Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to collaborate with staff, committees, and senior industry leaders Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint Proficiency with LinkedIn Experience with social media content creation Basic familiarity with audio recording and editing tools (e.g., Riverside, Audacity, or similar) Ability to travel, set up, and attend the NAC Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN, September 21-27, 2026 The student non-academic position requires at least six hours enrollment for fall and spring semesters Salary Range $17 per hour + depending on qualifications Working Conditions Use of manual dexterity Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Climbing of stairs May work around standard office conditions Some heavy lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. may be required Travel required Work Shift Flexible; Weekly Hours Vary Work to be performed hybrid May work evenings, weekends and holidays Required Materials Resume/CV 2 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor Letter of interest Important for applicants who are NOT current university employees or contingent workers: You will be prompted to submit your resume the first time you apply, then you will be provided an option to upload a new Resume for subsequent applications.
