Job Description
Mayroad seeks a Residential Maintenance Engineer to support its privatized military housing communities. This role performs routine and emergency maintenance across residential units and facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and building envelope repairs. You'll manage work orders, execute preventive maintenance, and ensure homes are safe, efficient, and well-maintained for military families. Working closely with site and asset management teams, you'll provide field insights that inform data-driven decisions and long-term capital planning. This onsite, resident-facing position requires strong technical skills, clear communication, and a commitment to integrity, safety, and continuous improvement in housing quality and resilience. Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency maintenance for privatized military housing units and community facilities Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance issues to ensure resident comfort and safety Complete preventive maintenance schedules and accurately document work orders in maintenance systems Inspect building systems, identify capital repair needs, and recommend long-term solutions to improve resilience Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and ensure work meets Mayroad quality standards Provide responsive, respectful service to military families, communicating clearly about repair status and timelines Ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and environmental regulations on all work sites Collaborate with facilities leadership to optimize maintenance processes using data and performance metrics Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours emergencies and support rapid resolution of critical issues Contribute field insights to help improve portfolio-wide asset performance and housing quality Required Skills Residential maintenance HVAC troubleshooting Plumbing repair Electrical repair (basic to intermediate) Appliance repair Building systems diagnostics Work order management software/CMMSPreventive maintenance planning Safety and code compliance Customer service/resident relations
