Plumbing Detailer - Iron Horse Companies Position Overview Iron Horse Companies is seeking an experienced Plumbing Detailer to support our growing commercial plumbing division. This role will play a critical part in the layout, coordination, modeling, and prefabrication process by working closely with architects, engineers, project managers, superintendents, and field staff to deliver highly coordinated plumbing systems across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in drawing review, plumbing detailing and layout, and CAD design. Revit, clash detection, shop drawing production, and prefabrication workflows preferred. Experience in HVAC is a plus. This role is ideal for someone who understands both virtual coordination and real-world field installation requirements. Key Responsibilities Detailing of underground plumbing layout and routing Detailing of pipe penetrations located within post-tension decks Creating dimensioned installation drawings for field use Participation in BIM and clash detection coordination meetings Operating AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Procore software programs Review of project specifications, construction documents, and code requirements Produce coordinated shop drawings, spool drawings, and prefabrication details to support field installation and modular construction efforts Coordinate plumbing piping, HVAC piping, ductwork, and mechanical equipment layouts with other disciplines Ongoing collaboration with project managers, superintendents, foremen, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate and efficient installations Assist with the development and optimization of BIM standards, workflows, and prefabrication processes Support field layout coordination and assist with resolving installation conflicts during construction Maintain accurate and updated models throughout all phases of the project lifecycle Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance project execution through BIM and prefabrication technologies Qualifications 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination, VDC, detailing, or commercial plumbing construction.
