This role is responsible for overseeing the reconfiguration, maintenance, and enhancement of building systems, equipment, and utilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, design, and execution of facility infrastructure projects, including mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems Evaluate and interpret facility specifications, regulatory requirements, timelines, and construction feasibility to inform project decisions Partner with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria, layouts, and detailed drawings Develop and manage bid packages, vendor selection, and construction contracts Estimate and control project costs across equipment, installation, labor, materials, and associated expenses Oversee and/or direct construction, installation, and commissioning activities , ensuring alignment with design specifications, quality standards, and schedules Drive continuous improvement of facility systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance Travel to project sites as needed (approximately 20-40% , depending on project demands) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in facility engineering (mechanical infrastructure, electrical systems, and building automation systems), OR Master's degree with 5+ years,OR PhD with 3+ years Hands-on experience with facility mechanical, electrical, and BAS systems Fluency in English and SpanishPreferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building automation systems Experience supporting the design and build of specialized environments , such as: Clean rooms Chiller plants Compressed air systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and engineering schematics Experience with integrated building systems , including: Temperature control Critical environment monitoring Power management and alarming Lighting controls and access control systems Familiarity with automation protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and LonWorks Tridium/Niagara BAS Certification is a plus Ideal Candidate Profile Strategic, hands-on leader comfortable owning end-to-end facility projects Strong cross-functional collaborator with experience working with external engineering partners and contractors Detail-oriented with a strong focus on compliance, safety, and system reliability Comfortable operating in complex, regulated, or critical environments
