Job Description

An employee owned (ESOP) HVAC/Plumbing design/build firm with over 114 years in business is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join our Bay Area team! Must have 5+ years HVAC mechanical experience. ☒ Full-time ☒ Exempt Duties and responsibilities: Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration Perform engineering calculations to support design work Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
Job Specifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field At least five years of progressively responsible professional level experience in engineering (HVAC/Plumbing/Piping preferred) Candidates with strong experience who lack the degree are encouraged to apply Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Able to communicate and listen carefully to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, and ask questions as appropriate for clarification Make rational judgments and decisions in a timely manner particularly in situations involving potential risks Work within a team framework, both as a leader and a member Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability

$85,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
