Healthcare + 401(k) Are you an experienced HVAC professional looking for a stable, hands-on role where you can take ownership of building systems and work independently? We are looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join a well-maintained high school campus in Aurora, Colorado . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HVAC technician or building engineer who enjoys working independently and takes pride in keeping equipment operating efficiently. The campus has relatively new mechanical equipment , meaning the role has a strong focus on preventative maintenance, inspections and maintaining equipment to a high standard , rather than constant reactive repairs. The Role You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of building systems, with a strong focus on HVAC. You will work as a self-contained engineer on site, identifying potential issues early, completing preventative maintenance and responding to repair requirements when necessary. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC and building systems Maintain and troubleshoot RTUs (Rooftop Units) and associated HVAC equipment Monitor heating, cooling and ventilation systems to ensure reliable operation Carry out regular inspections and identify potential equipment issues before they become major problems Complete scheduled preventative maintenance in accordance with established procedures Troubleshoot mechanical and HVAC issues and carry out repairs where required Assist with basic plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Ensure building systems operate safely, efficiently and within required standards Respond to occasional emergency maintenance requirements Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment Work independently while maintaining strong communication with site management and building occupants What We're Looking For 4+ years of hands-on HVAC experience HVAC certification is required EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred/required Strong experience working on RTUs (Rooftop Units) Experience in a commercial, institutional or similar building environment Strong preventative maintenance experience Ability to troubleshoot HVAC equipment and identify faults Ability to work independently as well as be a team player Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload Self-motivated, reliable and able to take ownership of building maintenance Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work safely around mechanical and building systems High School Diploma, GED, trade school qualification or equivalent experience Why This Role? $70,000
