We provide HVAC equipment evaluations, chiller and boiler replacement design, condenser water and outside air unit evaluations, and full building commissioning services to condominium associations, schools, commercial property owners, and institutional clients throughout South Florida. Every proposal, evaluation, and report that leaves our office carries our name and our seal — and we're looking for an engineer who takes that as seriously as we do. The Role We're hiring a Senior Project Engineer to join Cx4b as a second sealing PE, acting as Engineer of Record on mechanical and HVAC evaluations, chiller and boiler replacement designs, and commissioning engagements for our condominium, commercial, and institutional clients. This is a hands-on technical role with direct client contact and real ownership over your work — not a large-firm environment where senior engineering gets diluted across layers of review. You'll work closely with our President, but you'll be trusted to run projects independently once you're up to speed. What You Bring 1. Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, required at time of hire 2. 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical/HVAC engineering 3. Prior experience working at an MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) consulting or engineering firm 4. Strong working knowledge of HVAC system design, condition evaluation, and equipment selection 5. CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or equivalent) 6. Ability to pass a background check 7. Electrical engineering experience is a plus, though not required Who Thrives Here The right candidate wants the independence of sealing their own work without the overhead of a large firm's bureaucracy, and is genuinely interested in helping build something at a small, respected professional firm rather than being one engineer among many at a larger one. We're a small, relaxed office — direct access to firm leadership, no unnecessary layers, and a real opportunity to shape how this firm grows over the next several years.
