Job Description
General Function:
To execute scheduled maintenance primarily for specific stations within the Christian Television Network. To Install, operate, maintain and repair a wide variety of television production and broadcast equipment for the organization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. 1. Understand the vision and goals of the organization. 2. Technical support for CTN Network operations including satellite uplink and IP based signal transport as well as for other CTN Stations as required. 3. Do regular engineering maintenance for WCLF, WFGC, WRXY and WYKE and other locations on an as needed basis. 4. Coordinate small asset inventory of parts and materials for engineering and IT departments. 5. Operate transmitters and associated broadcasting equipment in accordance with FCC regulations to ensure that equipment provides and sustains a quality signal. 6. Operate a wide variety of equipment, systems, and technology related to audio/video and broadcast operations, to include: television broadcasting and cable systems, analog and digital audio/video production equipment, production consoles and switchers, audio and video editing systems, playout systems, video cameras, viewing and duplicating equipment, lighting consoles, studio lights, teleprompters, monitors, and related technology: checks and tests equipment daily, ensuring proper voltage and power; operates, calibrates, and makes adjustments to equipment; and assists and instructs co-workers in equipment use. 7. Maintain and repair a wide variety of television production and broadcasting equipment, systems, and technologies; performs cleaning and routine maintenance on all equipment; utilizes equipment manuals, CAD drawings, and other technical materials to analyze and resolve problems; troubleshoots problems and failures; and repairs, replaces, or modifies equipment. 8. Install and test new equipment and systems; identifies broadcasting equipment needs; makes equipment upgrades and purchase recommendations; and assembles and installs equipment; diagnose equipment failures and repair as needed. 9. Operate or use various test equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. 10. Communicates with supervisor, other employees, equipment manufacturers and vendors, engineers, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. 11. Perform other related duties as required; assist other CTN technical staff as required.Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in broadcast engineering or a related field; supplemented by two years of experience in broadcast engineering or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.Specific License or Certification Required :
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license. Obtain SBE certification during employment.Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position. Requires skill in operating and maintaining electronic, computer, networking, mechanical, and broadcasting systems and equipment. Requires knowledge of FCC regulations and Professional Broadcast Industry Standards. Ability to read and understand schematics, CAD drawings, and technical manuals.OTHER:

$45,000.00- $48,000.
