Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems within the hotel. Your leadership will ensure that all engineering functions adhere to safety regulations, operational standards, and quality expectations. Duties Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, managing daily operations and ensuring efficient performance across all engineering departments. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing, and other critical infrastructure using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Oversee troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems, electrical circuits (including high voltage and low voltage), HVAC systems, plumbing, and industrial equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and safety procedures by conducting regular safety audits, training sessions, and maintaining accurate safety records. Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or repairs by coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to meet deadlines and budget expectations. Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, repair procedures, schematics, safety inspections, and equipment logs. Monitor facilities operations to optimize energy efficiency and reduce operational costs while maintaining high standards of guest comfort. Qualifications Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance or engineering teams within a hospitality or industrial setting. Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, electrical systems (including high voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures. Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with CMMS software for scheduling maintenance tasks and tracking repairs. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations along with experience implementing safety protocols in complex environments. Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters. Excellent leadership skills combined with the ability to motivate teams while managing facilities maintenance teams effectively. Strong communication skills in English for clear reporting and coordination across departments.
