The MEP Engineer will work closely with senior team members to design, analyze, and implement engineering solutions. Collaborating with cross functional teams, the MEP Engineer will perform analyses, produce construction documents, conduct field investigations, and coordinate tasks. This role requires an understanding of engineering principles, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. This position is ideal for an early‑career engineer or designer seeking to develop strong technical skills under the guidance of senior engineering staff, while gaining meaningful growth opportunities within a collaborative, MEP‑focused, and expanding organization.
Responsibilities:
Design, draft, and develop construction documents for MEP and/or life safety systems using AutoCAD and Revit. Support senior team members with calculations, layouts and specifications. Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry code and regulations. Participate in quality control reviews of MEP system designs, calculations and drawings; and provide input to improve design processes and product quality. Support the construction administration process which includes, reviewing product data and shop drawings, responding to RFIs, assisting with the submittal processes, and generating the punch lists. Assist in preparing cost proposals and responding to RFPs/RFQs for various clients and marketing opportunities. Attend field visits, perform site surveys, develop visit reports, and meet with contractors as necessary. Help manage technical reports, specifications, and documentation in support of project deliverables. Provide support for marketing and business development efforts by writing project summaries which include details about the scope, size, value, etc. Required Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to quickly gain comprehensive knowledge of firm's business practices, clientele, goals, policies, and procedures. Have an understanding of the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry, terminology and delivery methods. MEP Commissioning engineering experience is a strong plus. Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. Ability to read and interpret complex electro/mechanical technical drawings. Strong computer software skills (MS Office Suite:
Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Internet technologies. Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and research skills, with exceptional attention to detail. A self-directed nature capable of prioritizing opportunities and performing multiple tasks. This includes an ability to meet demanding timelines, work independently and manage time efficiently. Excellent interpersonal skills. A genuine enjoyment of interacting with a diverse group of people. This includes an ability to establish and maintain authentic and effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology, or another related field. 2-3 years of experience in MEP design, drafting, or engineering support roles. Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing systems is preferred. Experience in engineering, architectural, and/or construction field(s) is a plus. Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or passing the FE exam is a strong plus. General Candidates should be prepared to provide a portfolio of previous project work, design samples, technical writing or other engineering related materials for review. Must have personal vehicle and/or transit arrangements to attend meetings and make client visits. References are required and will be checked.Job Type:
