Job Description

A well-established, employee-owned engineering and construction consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in Honolulu. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, government, and infrastructure projects throughout Hawaiʻi while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and coordinating HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, and building systems projects from concept through construction. What You'll Be Doing Design HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, and energy management/control systems for new construction and renovation projects. Prepare construction documents, specifications, basis of design reports, engineering calculations, and cost estimates. Develop mechanical engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and regulatory agencies throughout project delivery. Conduct site investigations, field surveys, and existing conditions assessments. Review construction documents, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation. Perform quantity take-offs and assist with opinions of probable construction costs. Support project scheduling, deliverables, and contract requirements. Participate in client meetings and technical presentations. Mentor junior engineers and design staff. Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, energy codes, and industry standards. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Hawaii Professional Engineer (PE) License required. Minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering experience within consulting engineering, MEP design, facilities engineering, or building construction environments. Experience with HVAC systems, ventilation, ductwork, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, project delivery methods, and building codes. Experience performing field investigations and coordinating with project stakeholders. $90,000.00 - $112,000.00 per year
