at Solstice Advanced Materials in Metropolis, Illinois, United States Job Description The Mechanical Integrity and Maintenance Excellence group is seeking a Principal Reliability and Maintenance Engineer to provide technical leadership for manufacturing sites across Solstice Advanced Materials' manufacturing network. This position may be based in Baton Rouge, LA; Geismar, LA; Colonial Heights, VA; Morris Plains, NJ; Houston, TX or at any Solstice Manufacturing location. This position sits within the central excellence team that supports the global manufacturing organization and reports to the Director of Mechanical Integrity & Maintenance Excellence. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to enhance the reliability of our manufacturing systems, while also optimizing maintenance strategies to ensure efficient and effective maintenance cost spending. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance execution and management, reliability engineering, and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities + Reliability & Maintenance Strategy + Participate in development and execution of maintenance and reliability strategies to optimize reliability performance and maintenance efficiency / cost. Optimize strategic plans against business needs and objectives. + Reliability Engineering + Provide technical leadership by serving as key SME and technical expert to assist sites with reliability and maintenance challenges. Respond to emergency or urgent site needs. + Establish, manage, evaluate and improve effectiveness of various proactive maintenance programs such as vibration analysis, condition based monitoring, MI inspection, etc. + Facilitate and deploy key reliability tools such as
FMEA , RCM
, Criticality analysis, RCA , LCCA , Weibull statistical analysis, CROW - AMSAA (Reliability Growth) analysis, reliability block diagram modeling, etc. + Mentor, train, and coach other reliability and maintenance professionals on reliability tools. Design and deploy work processes to ensure sustainability and grow organizational maturity. + Develop and implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs utilizing data analytics and statistical tools. + Maintenance Work Process & Execution + Serve as key SME and technical expert on maintenance work practices and processes. + Mentor, train and coach site maintenance personnel on maintenance best practices and effective maintenance execution. + Participate in maintenance work process assessments to evaluate site maintenance performance, identify and assist in implementation of interventions to improve performance. + Continuous Improvement + Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance practices, focusing on minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment availability. + Lead efforts to implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve maintenance and operational efficiencies. + Demonstrate continuous improvement of equipment and system reliability by applying the appropriate reliability & maintenance strategies, as measured by KPIs. + Data & Digitalization + Monitor and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor reliability & maintenance effectiveness and improve processes. + Participate and lead digitalization efforts and projects related to R&M. + Team and Culture + Facilitate and promote sharing of best practices across the manufacturing organization. + Position sits within an experienced and multi disciplinary team, and requires extensive and deep collaboration across many parts of the organization, including site personnel as well as senior leadership. Qualifications Required Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field + Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance and reliability engineering, within a manufacturing environment. + Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools to support decision-making. + Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. + Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to maintenance and safety. Preferred Qualifications + Technical subject matter expertise in reliability and maintenance of rotating equipment + Experience with common reliability tools such as
FMEA , RCM
, Criticality analysis, RCA , LCCA , Weibull statistical analysis, CROW - AMSAA (Reliability Growth) analysis, reliability block diagram modeling + Experience with SAP and Meridium / GE APM . + Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and certification is a plus. + Preference for candidates with experience supporting manufacturing operations within oil & gas, petrochemicals or specialty chemicals.
PAY RANGE
The annual base salary range for this position is $176,000 - 220,000 for the Houston, Texas geographical area. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations. The base salary range for this position depends on the candidate's work location. Compensation may vary by geography, experience level, and other job related factors. This position is incentive plan eligible.
