Job Description

Mr. C Refrigeration is seeking a HVAC/Refrigeration Application Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities for the role are to translate customers HVAC/Refrigeration requirements into equipment that can be sold, installed and maintained by Climate Solutions companies. This encompasses assembly of HVAC/Refrigeration loads, specifying & sourcing equipment to meet these requirements with customers or internal specifications, and provide engineering required for installation drawings. To succeed in this position, candidates need exceptional interpersonal skills to form a rapport with internal and external team members, strong organizational ability to complete tasks on multiple projects, and the ability to learn, retain, and repeat a wide variety of engineering tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
Assemble HVAC/Refrigeration requirements from store plans or drawings with lookup of equipment data and calculation of loads for warehouse and/or drive-in/walk-ins for cold storage. Specify and source equipment from established supplier partners for required loads that meets customer, internal and industry specifications. Provide submittal information on equipment for incorporation into refrigeration drawings or MEP set including weights, dimensions, and electrical requirements. Generate equipment and installation quotes for sales presentation. Provides complete project information to the project management team including equipment quotations, installation budget, expected construction times, and preliminary schedule. • Review refrigeration drawings and equipment production drawings for accuracy and ensure specifications match. Stay current on refrigeration regulations for refrigerants and specifications. Perform energy use calculations and comparisons for different equipment types. Develop and expand supplier relationships for equipment. Develops key subcontractor relationships for areas not serviced by Climate companies which may offer equipment sales opportunities. Familiarity with HVAC/Refrigeration codes, Com Check, new A2L/CO2 requirements, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar program, or commensurate experience with HVAC/Refrigeration equipment. Understand HVAC/Refrigeration systems and their components. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Problem solving and decision-making skills needed for a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel up to 10%. Experience with Excel. AutoCAD or Revitt experience helpful. In developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
