Sales Engineer -
Outside Sales Location:
New Orleans / Metairie, LA Who We Are We are Mechanical Concepts LLC, an established equipment distribution and service company with a strong track record, now expanding into the South Louisiana market. We represent world‑class HVAC manufacturers such as Daikin and BAC and specialize in applied solutions including VRF/VRV, chillers, air‑side systems, DOAS, energy recovery, advanced building automation controls and service. Our team works closely with customers from early system concepts through construction and commissioning, ensuring systems perform as intended. Overview This role works closely with company leadership and the sales team to position our products and services with engineers, contractors, and customers. You will be involved in equipment selection, pricing, and technical support while building strong relationships within the market. Mechanical Concepts is known for investing in its people. We provide structured training, strong internal engineering and application support, and a clear long‑term growth path. Many of our most successful sales engineers have built rewarding, decades‑long careers. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with engineers, contractors, and customers Support equipment selection and application guidance Assist with pricing, proposals, and project solutions Present technical information to customers and project teams Coordinate with manufacturers and internal teams Stay engaged with customers on current and future project opportunities Represent the company professionally in all interactions Qualifications Sales and/or technical experience in the HVAC industry Experience with heating and air conditioning systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to clearly present technical information Strong relationship management skills Comfortable selling value, not just lowest cost Strong negotiation skills Well organized with disciplined work habits Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Compensation and Benefits Commission-based position following initial training period, with defined base pay based on experience Paid bi-weekly Paid vacation Health insurance (50% company-paid for employee or family; eligibility after 90 days) Long-term disability coverage (60% of salary; 100% company-paid after 90 days) $20,000 company-paid life insurance (after 90 days) 401(k) after one year with up to 4% company match Profit-sharing contribution (historically funded; typically ~3% annually)
