Custody of inmates in their chargeDuties and Responsibilities:
Directs staff and inmates assigned to the plumbing systems, renovations, repairs and installation, and supervision of plumbing contractors hired by BCSO as needed. Responsible for ordering materials needed for the plumbing division. Provide cost estimates for repair and projects involving plumbing work. Helps to prepare specifications documents of plumbing projects required to go out for bid. Inspect work in progress and at completion to verify adherence or compliance with specification standards. Prepares reports as needed to supervisor and others regarding work activities. Utilize inmate labor on projects when necessary. Responsible for the supervision, control, custody of inmates in their charge. Monitors inmate activity, operates departmental equipment, and responds to inmate behavior patterns. Supervises and monitors Inmate Work Crews performing maintenance/cleaning duties in the correctional facilities. Responsible for training and instructing inmates in the use of tools and equipment and/or maintenance/repair practices and procedures. Transports inmates in department vehicles to the correctional facilities to perform work assignments. Must meet all local and state requirements pertaining to plumbing standards Design all new construction projects Performs janitorial duties as needed Maintains proper certifications and licenses.
