Hobbs Brook Real Estate seeks a Lead Facilities Engineer to oversee building systems across office, lab, and mixed-use properties. You will manage daily operations, coordinate maintenance and repairs, optimize HVAC, electrical, and plumbing performance, and lead vendor and contractor work. Partner with property management and tenants to ensure comfort, reliability, and safety while supporting sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives. This role mentors junior staff, leads capital and upgrade projects, troubleshoots complex issues, and ensures compliance with codes, standards, and best practices in a collaborative, professional environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily operation of building systems across office, lab, and mixed-use properties Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues and coordinate repairs Manage vendors and contractors, including bids, scopes, and quality control Collaborate with property management and tenants to resolve building comfort and reliability concerns Lead or support capital improvement and building upgrade projects Implement and monitor energy-efficiency and sustainability initiatives Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards Maintain accurate records using CMMS and prepare reports on system performance and maintenance Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior facilities staff Required Skills Facilities management HVAC systems Building automation systems (BAS) Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting Preventive and predictive maintenance Vendor and contractor management Energy management and sustainability Building codes and safety compliance Project management CMMS software
