Job Description

Ready to take your HVAC experience beyond the field and help develop the next generation of HVAC professionals? We're looking for an experienced HVAC professional and educator to lead an established HVAC/R program in Wayne, New Jersey. As the HVAC Program Director/Department Chair, you'll oversee a team of 6 HVAC/R instructors and support a program serving approximately 143 students. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who brings real-world HVAC experience, teaching experience, and strong leadership skills and is ready to make an impact on both students and instructors. What you'll do: Lead and support a team of 6 HVAC/R instructors Provide direction and leadership for the HVAC/R program Help maintain a high-quality learning environment for approximately 143 students Partner and collaborate with instructors, school leadership, and other departments Support program standards, curriculum, and overall student success Provide strong communication and day-to-day leadership across the department What we're looking for: Minimum of 4 years of HVAC/R industry experience At least 2 years of related postsecondary teaching experience Demonstrated HVAC/R subject-matter expertise Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead collaboratively and provide effective direction Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in the discipline as required by applicable accreditation and licensing standards Appropriate HVAC/R licenses and/or certifications based on accreditation and New Jersey requirements Program schedule: HVAC/R classes currently run Monday through Thursday across daytime and evening schedules, including 8:00 AM-1:00 PM, 10:30 AM-3:30 PM, and 6:00 PM-11:00 PM. Why consider this opportunity? You won't be walking into a brand-new program and building everything from scratch. You'll be stepping into an established HVAC/R program with experienced instructors and approximately 143 students, giving you the opportunity to lead, develop, and continue strengthening the department. And if the right opportunity is in New Jersey but you aren't, don't count yourself out. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. If you have HVAC industry experience, postsecondary teaching experience, and are ready to take the next step into program leadership, I'd love to hear from you.
