Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Building Design Facilities

What to Expect Tesla is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be part of the Building Infrastructure Engineering Team at Gigafactory Nevada Help create and optimize the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, produce cutting-edge detailed design of HVAC, hydronic (chilled water and heating water), and other factory utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Sparks, NV. What You'll Do Design HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems that are code complaint, cost-effective, and meet quality and schedule requirements Develop mechanical design packages for permitting and construction Manage high quality BIM (REVIT) models, engineering drawings, and PIDs for all mechanical systems Supervise engineers/designers to develop equipment datasheets, construction documents and specifications Produce high level cost estimates with material take off information for all sizes of projects in short time frames Manage and coordinate design with other disciplines, resolve design issues creatively Maintain, lead, and develop/write design standards, mechanical details, specifications, and sequences of operations Communicate effectively and timely to stakeholders and engineering team Prioritize and manage heavy workload to ensure high quality and productivity Mentor and be a technical resource for engineers/designers, may require managing outside consultants to meet project design schedules What You'll Bring 8+ years experience leading large-scale projects.
