Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Plumbing Draftsperson to join our residential plumbing team. This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in drafting, construction, or plumbing design. The Draftsperson will prepare and revise plumbing drawings under the guidance of experienced project managers and designers while learning industry standards, building codes, and company procedures. Responsibilities Prepare residential plumbing drawings using AutoCAD or other CAD software. Assist in creating plumbing layouts for new homes, additions, and remodeling projects. Update drawings based on project changes and field conditions. Review architectural plans to identify plumbing fixture locations and routing. Work with project managers, estimators, and field personnel to ensure drawings are accurate and complete. Organize and maintain project files and drawing revisions. Assist with material takeoffs and project documentation. Learn and apply local plumbing codes, company standards, and drafting best practices. Support permit drawing preparation as needed. Perform other drafting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting software. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Willingness to learn residential plumbing systems and building codes. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills Experience with AutoCAD through school, internships, or personal projects. Familiarity with residential construction or mechanical systems. Interest in pursuing a career in plumbing design, estimating, or project management.
