Full-Time About the Role We're partnering with a growing mechanical contractor to hire a Commissioning Engineer who will oversee the startup, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of commercial HVAC and heating systems. This is a hands-on field position where you'll work closely with project managers and installation teams to ensure newly installed systems are operating safely, efficiently, and according to design. Compensation & Benefits $120,000-$140,000 base salary 401(k) with company match Medical, dental & vision insurance Paid Time Off Long-term career growth with a stable and expanding contractor What You'll Do Lead the startup and commissioning of commercial boiler, HVAC, steam, and hydronic systems. Verify equipment, controls, and safety devices are installed and operating correctly. Review mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation. Perform system testing, combustion analysis, troubleshooting, and performance verification. Coordinate startup activities with project managers, field crews, vendors, and manufacturers. Prepare commissioning reports and project closeout documentation. Identify and resolve commissioning issues before final turnover. Travel to job sites throughout NYC and Westchester. What We're Looking For 4+ years of experience with commercial HVAC, boilers, hydronic or steam systems. Experience commissioning, starting up, servicing, or troubleshooting mechanical systems. Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and control diagrams. Familiarity with BAS/BMS platforms and HVAC controls. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but equivalent field experience will be considered. OSHA certification and a valid driver's license preferred.
