Job Description
Maintenance & Reliability Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing Ashtabula, OH A global chemical manufacturer is hiring a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer to ensure the integrity and reliability of plant equipment. You will develop analysis methods, identify problem areas, and implement improvement plans, while facilitating reliability review meetings and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions. You will also lead the development and implementation of the site's Mechanical Integrity program to maintain plant efficiency and regulatory compliance. Schedule Full-time, on-site. Compensation $125,000 - $140,000 per year. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, plus a 20% company bonus. Relocation assistance is available. What You'll Do You will provide technical support and guidance for maintenance activities to drive plant reliability, analyzing equipment performance data, identifying bad actors, and implementing corrective actions. You will develop and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) and mechanical integrity programs, lead RCA sessions and reliability improvement initiatives, and track key performance indicators such as Mean Time Between Repair (MTBR). You will manage and promote compliance with ISO 9000 and the company's safety program, and participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), incident investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) reviews. The role also includes overseeing site inspections and adherence to planned maintenance schedules, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain plant operations, and managing small capital projects up to $150K while contributing to cost reduction efforts. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 7 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment Strong understanding of process equipment, including pumps, compressors, piping, vessels, exchangers, and relief valves Experience with reliability methodologies, mechanical integrity programs, and maintenance best practices Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement cost-effective solutions Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Experience in a PSM-regulated (Process Safety Management) chemical environment Familiarity with PHA facilitation and MOC processes Compensation and Benefits 20% company bonus Retirement contribution up to 9% (6% match plus 3% annual company contribution) Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Relocation assistance Specific benefit details to be confirmed with the employer To apply, submit your resume through the application link.
