Division Corporate Shift First Shift Job Summary Job Summary Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to plan, design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products. May also have responsibilities for programming automation and controls systems involving PLC's (programmable logic controllers), HMI's and custom applications for aerospace manufacturing equipment. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Develops solutions to a variety of complex and unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedures standards related to plant layout, design and construction. Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results. Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Plans utilization of space and facilities for company consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, and available facilities and funds. Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design. Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. Plans, directs, and manages all phases of facilities modification and building projects from establishment of design concepts through design and implementation. Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified. Acts as primary contact for facilities project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets, and schedules. Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope. Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Engineering. If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement. Experience Requirements 5 year(s) Related experience and training. Experience with controls systems reading and programming. Skills and Competencies Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms. Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups. Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Skills and Work Requirements Physical Requirements Physical Requirements Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Demand- Frequency Walk
