Job Description
Option A:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required EIT Certification and ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred 3 years of experience required (4 preferred) in building design consulting Plumbing track —Option B:
Associate's degree or certificate in BIM or Engineering preferred ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred 7 years of experience required (8 preferred) in building design consulting or construction Required Skills Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as applied to HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems design for buildings Functional expertise in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software and tools, including HVAC load calculation software and/or plumbing design tools Mastery of code calculations for domestic water, waste, and vent systems (plumbing track) Advanced knowledge of specialty plumbing systems such as medical gas, laboratory gas, high-rise, and rainwater/grey water systems, as applicable based on team market focus (plumbing track) Basic to proficient use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, depending on experience level Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly to individuals or groups Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to travel up to 5-10% with occasional overnight stays, depending on discipline and project needs Why Join Us IMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. Team Highlights At IMEG, our Mechanical and Plumbing teams collaborate to design reliable, efficient, and sustainable building systems across all facility types. Our plumbing engineers design domestic cold and hot water supply, water heating systems, sanitary sewer and vent, stormwater drainage, and specialty systems including medical gases and laboratory water — with an emphasis on water conservation, public health, and code compliance Our mechanical engineers design HVAC systems ranging from central plants and building automation to energy recovery systems, geothermal systems, chilled beams, and industrial ventilation — earning multiple international ASHRAE Technology Awards for energy-efficient design Both teams leverage advanced tools including 3D modeling and BIM coordination to integrate plumbing, mechanical, and related building systems with structure and other trades, minimizing conflicts and improving constructability Mechanical engineers apply lifecycle analysis, rapid energy modeling, and sustainable design practices to support occupant comfort, indoor air quality, and reduced energy consumption Low-flow fixtures, rainwater harvesting, and compliance with plumbing and health codes are standard considerations in our plumbing designs Across both disciplines, IMEG integrates building systems to deliver safe, functional, and sustainable solutions for our clients Locations available: Broomall, PA Las Vegas, NV Apply today to join IMEG and help deliver plumbing design solutions that make buildings safer, more efficient, and more impactful for the communities we serve. State of Nevada Salary Range is $71,000 - $94,000 . Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
