You'll help us empower communities to focus on what matters most - people. Jacobs has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be a key member of the Operations Management & Facilities Services (OMFS) business Engineering team, supporting the OMFS projects with capital planning, out of scope/value add projects, equipment renewal and replacement, and other engineering needs. This is a full-time role, reporting to the OMFS Engineering Manager. Principle duties and responsibilities Support OMFS Project Managers Support OMFS Projects with maintenance, renewal and replacement, and capital project planning. Prepare annual CIP recommendations. Prepare associated parametric cost estimates. Working in the field with Jacob's operations and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and develop solutions. Develop and maintain hydraulic and process model of the water and wastewater facilities. Support OMFS Project managers with project startup and transitioning. Assist OMFS Project managers with C3PR and other engineering requests, as assigned by OMFS Engineering Manager. Value Add Projects Lead value-add evaluation and design projects of wastewater processes and systems, prepare engineering calculations, field assessments, and manage pilot studies. Assist in the project management of value-add study and design projects for OMFS projects. Including, management of consulting team members. Support with equipment startup and commissioning. Develop scopes of work for Vendors, Subcontractors, or internal Regional Maintenance Teams. Out-of-Scope Projects Help prepare scopes of work and Out-of-Scope toolkits. Participate in Out-of-Scope study and design projects alongside with consulting team members. •For context: for an engineering/consulting audience, this role description refers to OMFS Project Managers, who are the de facto treatment plant managers at each site. OMFS uses the term "Project" referring to long-term O&M contracts at a site or plant, but this role is focused on maintenance and capital projects in the context of studies, design and construction efforts. This description refers to the consulting team, which is more specifically the engineering teams in the Water end market under the Jacobs Building & Infrastructure Americas business unit. Value add project refers to a non-client-billable project in support of OMFS Project base scope, Out-of-Scope project refers to client-billable additional services performed by the Consulting team through an OMFS Project contract. •This is a hybrid position, and can be delivered from any U.S.-based Jacobs office and home location with an estimated 50% travel to project locations. Ability to travel to OMFS Project sites. (up to 50%) Strong verbal and written communication skills Have a current valid driver's license with no major infractions Ideally, You'll Also Have EIT & Professional engineering license preferred M.S. in Civil, Environmental, or related field preferred Prior experience with OMFS projects or clients is a plus Working Conditions Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
