WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Survey existing plumbing systems and examine field conditions, as required to support the development and completion of projects. Review project scope, deliverables, and due dates. Perform code/standards reviews, including building codes, insurance carrier requirements, client standards, and other reviews. Determine the required Plumbing systems and criteria. Prepare engineering calculations, perform equipment selections, size pipe distribution systems, perform drafting and electronic drawing preparation, prepare specifications, coordinate with site utilities, and create riser and flow diagrams. Generate contract documents (piping plans, drainage and vent plans, details, schedules, and specifications). Participate in construction administration, such as answering RFIs and reviewing of shop drawings. Prepare and/or Draft red-line markups. Interface with other discipline engineers, architects, owners/clients, facilities personnel, utility companies, and contractors for design coordination
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field. 2 to 4 years of experience in plumbing design and engineering. Working knowledge of Standard Plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, pumps, and safety equipment. Proficiency in current versions of REVIT and/or AutoCAD Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills across project stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills, proficient with MS Office and PDF editing applications. Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical or plumbing engineering, engineering technology, or other related field. 2+ years of experience designing and engineering plumbing systems in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare facilities. Exposure to specialty plumbing systems (Laboratory Waste; Process Waste; Tepid Water; Laboratory Gases) Familiarity with building codes, NFPA standards, and industry regulations. Knowledge of general building construction for plumbing systems, interpretation of code compliance requirements, and industry standards Progression toward Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) and Professional Engineer (PE) after 5 years of experience is attained.
