Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Systems Design)

Oxford Solutions is working with a client in the Pittsburgh, PA area seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong HVAC systems design experience. This is a direct hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule, working from home on Mondays and Fridays. This role is ideal for a mechanical engineer with experience designing HVAC systems for building and facility projects. The selected candidate will support engineering design, calculations, construction documentation, and coordination with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders. Responsibilities Design HVAC systems for building and facilities projects Perform mechanical load calculations and related engineering analysis Support development of construction documents, including drawings and specifications Assist with equipment selections and system layouts Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, vendors, and other project team members Review applicable codes and standards related to HVAC system design Conduct field surveys, progress reviews, and project close-out punch list support as needed Mentor junior engineers and designers Use design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, and related software Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university PE license preferred; EIT required with eligibility to sit for the PE exam within approximately one year Experience with HVAC systems design required Ability to perform load calculations Experience in an engineering consulting, AEC, MEP, or facilities design environment preferred Working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and standards Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD preferred Experience with Carrier HAP and/or Trane Trace preferred Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Schedule Direct hire opportunity Hybrid schedule Work from home Monday and Friday In office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Pittsburgh, PA area Compensation Pay will vary based on experience, licensure, and whether the candidate has an EIT or PE.
