Consulting Engineers is a full-service mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design firm with offices in New York City and New Jersey. We specialize in the design and engineering of building systems for a wide range of new, renovation and facility improvement projects. Position Overview We are seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer with experience in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of building and facility renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage projects from inception through completion while delivering high-quality engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities Design plumbing and fire protection systems for building renovation and facility improvement projects. Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other project documentation. Perform CAD drafting and coordinate design drawings with other engineering disciplines. Conduct site visits to assess existing building conditions and verify field information. Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle. Manage assigned projects from initial planning and design through construction administration and project closeout. Prepare and review technical documents to ensure design quality and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Maintain project schedules, track deliverables, and manage project documentation. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems, preferably for building renovation projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; MicroStation experience is a plus. Familiarity with project management tools, engineering documentation, and design coordination processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients on a daily basis. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
