Job DescriptionThe Chief Engineer responsible for all working matters under the operations and maintenance of building systems at CMI's customer site in Culpeper, VA.Key Job FunctionsResponsible for the building's systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and supervision of technicians.

Performs Preventive Maintenance tasks involving keeping equipment in good working order to reduce downtime and prevent breakdowns.

Shall be onsite in a full-time capacity and on-call to respond to emergencies.

QualificationsThe Chief Engineer must possess at a minimum five (5) years of experience within the past seven (7) years in the management of building mechanical maintenance operations and supervision of technicians for a facility or facility campus of at least 1 million square feet.

The Chief Engineer must possess a valid stationary engineer's license at least equivalent to a Class 3 Steam Engineer (DC) or First Grade Engineer (MDDemonstrate competency in other disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical through a combination of education, professional registration and experience.

An industry certification from International Facility Management Association (CFM, FMP and/or SFP), Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), and/or Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) are highly desirable.

Additional RequirementsAbility to plan, organize and meet project deadlines.

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required.

Demonstrate working knowledge of engineering and building systems.

Ability to read, review, and understand blueprints.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Shall be available for emergency contact by phone twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year.

Shall have an availability to work flexible hours as required in response to emergency situations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, CMMS and project tracking software.
