Rappahannock Juvenile Center is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Engineer with strong customer service skills. A Journeyman level professional who performs preventive and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical is preferred. This position is responsible for maintaining, and monitoring the continuous operation of all building systems including:
- Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls)
- Electrical (lighting, generators, primary switch gear)
- Hot water systems
- Refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment
- Boilers, hot water heaters
- Pumps, valves, piping and filters This position requires the ability to analyze the operation of these systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions, and take corrective action as required.
A typical workday includes monitoring operations and conducting routine and on-going assessment of the building systems and operations, and performing maintenance tasks as determined.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Journeyman or Master level certification preferred.
- Five years' minimum experience as a Maintenance Engineer preferred, but relevant training and demonstrated skills will be also be considered
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic to Intermediate data entry and general PC skills
- Must have a valid
Driver's License Pay:
$30.00 - $33.00 per hour
