Job Description Job Description Job Description We are looking for a reliable Engineering Technician who plays a critical role in executing projects that cover three key areas: Continuous Improvement, Strategic Initiatives and Innovation. The engineering technician is an extremely capable person who loves to create and build using their hands. The right candidate must succeed in the following areas: fabrication, assembly, installation, machine operation, research and development, upgrades, improvement. The Engineering Technician will fabricate and build with a passion for precision, functionality and doing things the right way. This is a hands-on role that will create operational success at all Hasa locations, existing and future.
Role Scope & Responsibilities:
Adhere to safety requirements relevant to the job: PPE, proper tools, permits, etc. Fabricate parts in a machine shop environment using powered hand tools, mills, lathes, table saws, jig saws, routers, welders, grinders and more Assemble machined parts and stock materials to build functional equipment for industrial chemical plants Install and set up equipment in the field and support start-up activities Install plumbing, valves, pumps and other process equipment: PVC pipe, steel pipe, mag drive pumps, and more. Review jobs with engineers, supervisors, and colleagues to ensure proper parts and tools are available Attend job-site meetings and walkthroughs. Provide meaningful feedback. Maintain equipment, tools, raw materials and parts in good working condition. Advise supervision as needed. Respond to technical questions from coworkers and colleagues from other departments Evaluate daily progress and provide clear communication on completion of tasks Maintain the safety, organization and cleanliness of the machine shop and all job sites Demonstrate pride, professionalism and ownership as a corporate level technician
Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma and/or completion of vocational training/apprenticeship Must work, HANDS-ON, in the following areas: plumbing, precision cutting, grinding, sanding, metal welding (MIG & TIG), plastic welding (PVC), fastening & joining, manual & powered hand tools, painting, coating, turning, milling, assembly Basic understanding of electrical systems and how they interact with mechanical, structural and plumbing. Can read, interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings/schematics Experience in construction, maintenance, packaging, and manufacturing is preferred Forklift and scissor-lift certified. Experience with construction equipment (e.g. lifts, cranes, skid steer) is beneficial Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items, up to 50lbs Can remain standing for long periods of time This position will require 30%-50% travel over the course of a calendar year
