Become capable of operating critical processing equipment such as vacuum furnaces, sputter machines, XRF machines, thermal shock machines, electrical check machines, leak check machines, clean lines, laser marker, laser welder, tig welder, OGP, CMM, etc. Possesses good organizational skills. Possesses good communication skills verbal and written. Capable of multi-tasking. Competent in meeting deadlines and schedules. Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor.

Job Purpose:
The Engineering Technician reports directly to the NPI Engineering Manager. The role is an exciting opportunity to join a global, dynamic, high-tech team in a generalist Technician role. We are an industry leader in the development and manufacture of ceramic-to-metal seals and related components. This role supports product development, process improvement, and production readiness across business needs.Essential Functions:
Engineering Technician to support the NPI team primarily, with secondary support to the Production floor on an as-needed basis. Support may flex across business areas depending on workload and business needs. Perform various tasks as assigned by NPI Engineering Manager, or Value Stream Lead (VSL) when applicable. Build pilot assemblies using written instructions or prints for projects from Engineering Manager. Perform verification operations on pilot jobs. Debug and offer ideas for assembly instructions, fixtures and testing. Drafts detail drawing or sketch to request parts/tooling fabrication by machine shop/maintenance or outside vendors. Some machining capability preferred. Maintain lot traceability of assembly items, documents and procedures. Perform qualification tests with instructions given on jobs, such as first article inspection, pilot run inspection, and functional tests (bend, rotational, pull tests). Generate engineering tests (ET's) on jobs, with consultation from Engineering Manager. Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method. Ability to document yield and job rates on parts transitioning from pilot to production. Offer training on pilot job operations to operators for production. Assist with the transition from pilot to production. Assist engineers to troubleshoot product yield problems.Write work instructions/methods as needed.
