This is a hands-on, field-based position involving construction observation, materials testing, documentation, and travel to active construction sites. No prior experience is required. Candidates with zero years of experience are encouraged to apply if they have an interest in physical labor, construction, engineering, or working outdoors. Training and certifications will be provided. Responsibilities Perform field testing and observation for soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, foundations, and other construction activities. Conduct soil and aggregate density testing and assist with concrete testing. Observe grading, excavation, fill placement, proofrolling, and foundation construction. Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Complete accurate electronic daily field reports and document testing results. Communicate testing results and potential issues to project personnel. Safely operate, maintain, and transport testing equipment. Follow all company, project, and job-site safety requirements. Assist engineers and project managers with field investigations and other construction-related assignments. Complete required training and maintain applicable certifications. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Reliable access to a personal vehicle for travel between project sites. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable performing physical work, including standing, walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate professionally. Basic computer and mobile-device skills. Construction or field experience is preferred, but not required. Entry-level candidates and candidates with 0 years of experience are encouraged to apply. Work Environment & Schedule This is primarily an outdoor, field-based position on active construction sites. Work may involve early mornings, overtime, and occasional evening, night, or weekend hours depending on project needs. Training & Advancement Employees will receive company-supported training and may earn certifications such as ACI, NICET, WACEL, nuclear density gauge, OSHA, and other industry credentials.
