Engineering Technician Job Description As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for operating test benches in the R D engineering lab, conducting a variety of tests to evaluate structural integrity, product efficiency, and end-of-life performance. You will oversee the mechanical upkeep and calibration of these tests, contributing to the development of new technologies and products. Collaborating with test requestors and lab managers, you will determine appropriate testing methods and set up performance tests using standardized formats and procedures. Responsibilities Operate and maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Fabricate components and assemblies for hydraulic, diesel engine, and alternative power products. Conduct specialized testing without written procedures, adapting processes and equipment to meet complex requirements. Troubleshoot test bench circuits, field equipment systems, and components. Build prototypes and retrofit vehicles with company products. Effectively communicate technical information and keep the lab manager informed of ongoing testing activities. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and testing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and software literacy. Experience with LabVIEW and troubleshooting. Understanding of automotive manufacturing, hydraulics, and hydraulic assembly. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred Associate's degree. Advanced knowledge of test equipment and test standards. Technical experience in fluid handling, filtration, or diesel engines. Advanced computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office. Organizational skills and ability to multitask. Work Environment You will work Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in an engineering casual environment. The focus is on the durability and efficiency of liquid applications filters, specifically diesel fuel. Safety shoes and glasses are required in labs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
