Job Description
Instrumentation and Network Engineer Engineering Technician II Kirtland AFB Albuquerque, New Mexico HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide. HX5 is currently seeking an Instrumentation and Network Engineer to join our team at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico supporting the Directed Energy Combined Test Force with various tests and data analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provision and configure network switches and routers for a local area network. Ability to learn and operate test-related instrumentation and hardware from technical manuals. Coordinate with Cybersecurity team to develop and maintain field network Authority to Operate. Manage IT inventory. Generate documents describing network topologies and contribute to team reporting requirements. Additional duties may be requested on an as needed basis.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field. Three (3) years of professional experience.Preferred Experience:
Good working knowledge of Windows software. Knowledge of establishing Windows security hierarchy for personnel accounts. Basic understanding of Redhat/Linux/Ubuntu operating systems with ability to install and operate software applications. Familiarity with Air Force systems (SIPRNET and NIPRNET). Test & Evaluation background. Other Position Requirements Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire. Position will travel to various sites for 2-3 weeks at about 2 or 3 times per year. (approximately 35% travel)Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time onsite position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours. During mission support, weekends and evenings may be required.
