Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical & Light Assembly Engineering Technician to support a manufacturing and engineering team in Rochester, NY. This individual will work closely with engineers and production personnel to build, assemble, test, troubleshoot, and support mechanical products and prototype assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience interpreting engineering drawings, and a hands-on background working with precision mechanical assemblies in a manufacturing or engineering environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with hardware, mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering teams to support product development and production efforts. This will be a first shift position Monday-Friday 6am-3:30 on a 9/80 work schedule. Skills and Requirements High School Diploma or GED. 4+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, engineering technician work, manufacturing, or a related technical environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions. Experience working with precision mechanical assemblies and tight tolerances. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment. Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline. Experience supporting engineering development or prototype builds. Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies. Familiarity with CAD drawings and engineering documentation. Experience working in aerospace, defense, optics, automotive, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environments. Experience performing product testing and validation activities. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Soldering, wiring, or cable assembly experience. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
