Team:
The Avionics team is responsible for all aspects of the electrical design on the rocket, from electronics, interconnects, associated mechanical design, testing and initial production. This team's scope includes the flight computers, power systems, RF systems, PCB design, autonomous flight safety systems, and telemetry. This team works on complex electrical systems that require modularity and flexibility, and are critical to the successful launch of Terran R, and beyond! About the
Role:
As a Senior Component Engineer on the Avionics Hardware team, you will source, test, and qualify EEE piece parts that support the electronics on Relativity's rocket, Terran R. You will support the team through the full product lifecycle from conceptual trades helping identify components for various use-cases, screen and qualify components, and lead failure analysis investigations in test. You will work with cross-functional partner teams across the company to help the team make the best possible decisions for the overall vehicle. A strong candidate for the role will have a deep technical background in electronics design and test.
About You:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in electronics design for harsh environments and mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics Familiarity with active and passive electronic components and failure modes Familiarity with destructive and non-destructive failure analysis methods (DPA, X-Ray, CSAM) Experience working with a cross-functional team of design, build, and reliability engineers Nice to haves but not required: Knowledge of automotive, industrial, and military EEE piece-part ratings Experience with EEE piece part supply chain and manufacturing methods Strong analysis skills in computing reliability and failure rates We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
