Job Title:
Senior Staff Antenna Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Antenna Engineer to function in an advisory or leadership capacity. This role involves participating in the planning and oversight of engineering solutions, providing direction and guidance to both professional and support staff, and ensuring compliance with various standards. You will be responsible for technical plan formulation, integration of engineering solutions within the engineering environment, documentation, testing, and maintenance. A key aspect of this role is effective communication with engineering professionals, solution users, and management throughout the solution development cycle. Responsibilities Participate in planning and oversight of engineering problem resolution and implementation. Formulate technical plans for solution development, documentation, and deployment. Evaluate integration of engineering solutions and oversee documentation, testing, and maintenance. Communicate with engineering professionals, solution users, and management. Represent the company as a prime technical contact on systems or projects. Select, motivate, and develop professional and support staff. Ensure compliance, reporting, and safety standards are maintained. Troubleshoot avionics hardware, including PCBA board testing and defect detection. Create electromagnetic simulation models for hardware design and evaluation. Write and execute verification test plans and reports. Modify electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for reliability and manufacturability. Design and troubleshoot RF test setups and support equipment. Participate in the development and optimization of new RF designs. Engage in system-level design of satellite systems throughout all project phases. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline with fifteen or more years of experience, or a master's degree with thirteen or more years of experience, or a PhD with ten or more years of experience. Experience with satellite space systems. Proficiency in RF components, wire harnesses, and electrical test equipment. Extensive knowledge of digital communication systems and modulation types. Experience in environmental testing such as vibration, shock, and thermal. Proficiency in electromagnetic theory and performance budgeting. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work extended hours as required. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency with electromagnetic analysis software such as HFSS, FEKO, or CST. Proficiency with microwave circuit simulation software such as AWR or ADS. Ability to manipulate data and generate data visualization in MATLAB or Python. Experience in architecting entire systems to support R D efforts. Work Environment The work environment is collaborative and multidisciplinary, requiring coordination with project stakeholders, customers, RF and antenna engineers, and other departments. Technical leadership is crucial, although this role does not include supervisory responsibilities. Extended hours may be required, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external personnel is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Poway, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $230000.00/yr. Competitive salary, pension and 401k Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Poway,CA.
